Dr. Jeffrey Hanson stands as the visionary Chief Scientist/Engineer at EcoHabs for Earth, steering the organization towards a sustainable future. Armed with a Ph.D. in Earth Science from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Hanson boasts an expansive 35+-year career marked by expertise in leading research and development projects across academia, industry, and government sectors.

Dr. Hanson's commitment extends beyond the confines of his professional realm. An ardent lover of the outdoors, he finds solace and inspiration in nature's embrace. Devoted to the cause of off-grid regenerative environmental living practices, Dr. Hanson dedicates himself to developing and imparting improved methods that harmonize human existence with the Earth.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. Hanson cherishes his role as the father of two adventurous young adults. His family life is a testament to the values of exploration, resilience, and a deep connection with the natural world.

What makes Dr. Hanson's journey even more remarkable is his partnership with his wife, Nora Hanson. Working side by side, they lovingly contribute to the mission of EcoHabs for Earth, creating a dynamic synergy in their shared commitment to sustainability.

 

Nora Hanson: Queen Bee (Director!), EcoHabs for Earth

Mrs. Nora Hanson, an exceptional advocate for self-sufficient sustainable living, serves as the Executive Director of EcoHabs for Earth. With a dynamic background spanning three decades, Nora brings a wealth of experience in marketing and development, having worked with some of the world's largest food companies.

​

Nora's versatility extends beyond the corporate realm, as she is a skilled owner/builder whom has passionately designed and constructed houses from the ground up. Her hands-on approach to building reflects a deep commitment to ecological principles, a commitment she shares with her husband as they collaborate on the creation of EcoHabs.

​

Having raised three sons as a single mother, Nora is no stranger to adventure and the great outdoors. Her family life has been marked by thrilling experiences, including rock climbing, mountaineering, hiking, snow sports, and white-water rafting. These shared outdoor adventures have shaped her resilient and adventurous spirit.

​

In her current chapter, Nora finds joy in paddleboarding, backpacking, and cultivating a love for growing food and herbs, inspired by her practice of traditional Thai medicine. Nora envisions a harmonious existence with the land and ocean, where she and her husband strive to provide sustenance and medicine for themselves, their family, their community (sangha), and the Earth at large.

Mrs. Nora Hanson embodies the spirit of EcoHabs for Earth, dedicating her life to fostering sustainability, building ecological habitats, and cultivating a deep connection with the natural world. Her journey is a testament to the transformative power of hands-on commitment and a profound love for the Earth.
